I’ve just started Animal by Lisa Taddeo and I’m already rushing through to find out what happens! Just keep in mind the main character is very dislikable haha

I love an easy read and have just finished The Family Remains a sequel to the Family Upstairs. Can’t recommend enough if you want something to bash through but also zone out to! x

I love a thriller but at the moment am having a light-hearted break with The No-Show by Beth O’Leary (author of The Flatshare, which was a favourite holiday read) x

Currently reading The Harpy by Megan Hunter. I am not sure if I would recommend it to be honest as it’s quite dark. I have just finished reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, which was captivating. It has quite dark elements too but it has such depth. Have also heard that it has been adapted into a fantastic play held at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London!

Just finished ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ by Bonnie Garmus - a top recommend by one of my retreaters. I’m generally a slow reader however, I couldn’t put this down but also didn’t want to finish it either. Great female character / role model, three cheers to the Elizabeth Zott’s of the world - loved it. Order here to support local bookshops: https://uk.bookshop.org

Thank you! Yes, being an independent retailer myself, I will always support local where I can. Lucky to have an award winning independant local bookshop right here where I live in Sevenoaks. x

Still a few little independent book shops around thank goodness - long may they stay x

Currently reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt which the wonderful @heathersteele lent to me! It’s fantastic, pacy and intelligent. It’s not new but definitely a classic - can’t believe it’s taken me this long to read it x

one of my faves!!!

I’ve just finished Ariadne by Jennifer Saint and I’m on a bit of a Greek kick so I’ve just started The Silence Of The Girls by Pat Barker which was shortlisted for the Man Booker a couple of years ago. Ariadne was a great easy read and I should probably add a trigger warning to SOTG as it’s quite violent from the off - although the sophistication in the writing is far sharper. I’m looking forward to reading Elektra and Atalanta by Jennifer Saint later this year.
