Hair breakage!

I am just 8 weeks away from my wedding but I am having such bad hair breakage. I am trying to limit the heat but my hair type really needs some styling else looks awful. Any products /tips people have found considerable hair growth or better health? Feel my hair breaking is turning into a mullet!!!

you need a bonder! I know it may seem obvious but a olaplaex mask once a week makes a big difference. I’d go so far as to say that if you need instant results, go into a salon and ask for a bonding treatment as they’ll use the salon grade stuff they don’t sell!

otherwise for a short-term fix if you have any broken hairs on the top of your head - spray some hairspray onto your hands then flatten them. OR use some pommade and smooth them down.

I use the olaplex bonding oil Buy Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil 30ml - LOOKFANTASTIC which is really good but I agree that if you want quicker results before your wedding a salon bonding treatment is definitely worth considering! Quite spenny but the results feel amazing!

Thank you Sapna! I might have to go for a bonding treatment - so worried!

I’d recommend the Virtue Manta hairbrush - not cheap but extremely gentle on hair and scalp.

I really recommend the Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask - it really transforms your hair and I noticed a reduction in breakage after using this for a while. Not a quick fix but a silk/satin pillowcase makes such a difference to overall hair health as it’ll stops those knots that contribute to breakage x

This is amazing for breakage…

Oh my, mine is the same on one side - looks awful, never experienced before and lucky to have a lot of hair… SO sad, feel your pain. I think I am going to have to have a layer or two chopped in (not fun) but here for all the reccos. Apparently the older your hair tools are, the more damage they do says my hairdresser cousin!

I really rate this from Living Proof - you don’t need much and it’s easy to add into your usual routine straight after hairwash and then I just use my other usual products after.

Keratase Genesis range is fantastic as is Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner - I used it after cancer treatment when I had hair breakage - luckily isn’t lose hair - and still use Keratase as it’s great and smells divine.

The Phillip Kingsley range is great - lots of shampoos and conditioners. It’s the only thing that works on my (very curly) hair.

I do really rate K18 bonding treatments but they do cost a bit!

JVN Complete Instant Recovery Serum Travel 25ml | Cult Beauty - also fab! As are the Davines masks and its Liquid Lustre treatment which just smooths uneven texture

Thank you!

Oh feel I need to try K18! I hear good things

Oh haven’t tried the Genesis range! Hope you are well x x

Something which has really changed my hair is hair oiling. It’s the hair syrup razpunal or growsmerry. I use a scalp brush on my dry scalp for 5 mins, put on the oil all over the scalp and use the scalp brush for another 5 minutes then leave the oil in for a minimum of an hour. Twice a week. it really really works and i cannot believe I haven’t done it for longer.
K18 is another really good one in my opinion alt more effective then olaplex (although I do still use olaplex).

As someone that had long red Farah Fawcett hair and as of Easter Monday had about 1 inch of frazzled thin hair due to chemo. I can swear by 3 things none of which are olaplex of K18 which I have never found to be any good at actually nourishing your hair which it needs to create a good environment for growth. Firstly once my chemo finished I use the manta brush to massage my hair morning and night, it is both stimulating yet gentle. I use Augustinus bader hair oil every other day and then twice a week I coat my hair with Ranavat fortifying hair serum. I have always for decades used Philip Kingsley shampoo and conditioner. I also swear by Victoria Health Daily Multivitamin. Good luck
