Help with work clothes for a GP

Hi there,
Im a GP in her 40s and mum of two. I have been wearing scrubs since the pandemic and if i’m honest, looking at them makes me pretty sad! They are a reminder of long days vaccinating and stress! I would like to have a basic capsule wardrobe that i could wear on the days that i work. They cant really be dry clean only as the ability to put in wash with other items is essential!

many thanks,
Clare

A knitted tabard over a classic shirt is stylish but in a subtle and functional way - I love Janie from Cefinn. Merino Wool Jumpers Womens | Merino Knitwear | Ladies Merino Wool Jumpers
And a good tailored trouser that works with flats of a small heel - Pencil Trousers | Turn Up Trousers | Maxi Trousers | Women's Smart Trousers
Keeping things tonal also always helps you feel more pulled together.

A two piece suit is really versatile - it means you can wear them separately or together when necessary. There are lots of nice wide leg options out there that feel more contemporary and less corporate than a traditional style. I’d look at Me&Em and Massimo Dutti.

If you are looking to get a few pieces, I would definitely consider Massimo Dutti and COS as they have good quality, simple pieces that lend themselves towards a capsule wardrobe. I would recommend (if you can) going to the stores and trying on items that you can mix and match, at this time of year this means pieces like tailored trousers, a blazer, shirts, light knitwear, a trench and loafers.
