I’m staying off the booze this January, and looking to meet a friend for a coffee/tea after 8pm! Where on earth does one go in London for this? All suggestions I’ve found seem to be bars with non alcoholic options, which is not the vibe. HELP!

Hi Catherine, may still not be the vibe but you know that a lot of the better hotels serve you tea or coffee in their lounges. It is expensive but you can just order the one pot of tea or whatever and linger for as long as you like. I often meet friends in hotel lounges first before going on to things so I’m not hanging around on my own in a bar or restaurant. Because you are not in the a bar but in the lounge, you don’t have to look at cocktails going past.

Has a beautiful warm roof garden, they are open late and serve tea/coffee. I visited on my recent trip to London, it was very relaxing. It’s in Belgravia.
