One of my best friends is moving to New Zealand for a year and I need to get her a leaving gift. I don’t want to get her any ‘stuff’ as she’s having a huge clear out and packing light but would still like to give her something useful or thoughtful. Anything travel related would be a bonus, too!

What about a cover for her passport/travel documents/card holder? My sister got me a lovely passport holder when I did my year abroad and I still use it!
Or I recent bought my friend a Lonely Planet book before she went travelling. She’s a foodie and was going to lots of different countries so I went for this: Amazon.co.uk
I’m sure they would do something similar for New Zealand / her interests!

I just got a Drowsy Silk Sleep Mask and its changed my life! Amazing for everyday use but I can image a saviour on long haul flights x

How about a special notebook or travel journal if you think she’d use it. Perhaps you could write a special message to her in the front she can look back on - I did this for one of my friends and she often messages when she uses it.

I live in New Zealand (Auckland) and would highly recommend a gift voucher for Mecca. It’s the NZ equivalent of Space NK / beauty emporium and it might be a lovely place for your friend to pop in and buy herself a treat.
