Hi, my fiancé and I have booked a couple of nights in York after our wedding for a “mini moon”. Has anyone got any recommendations for food, drink, activities?
We’ve been before so have completed the usual sight seeing/tourist attractions so looking for some insider knowledge away from the usual. We have booked to stay at no.1 guesthouse (stayed before and loved so much we’re going back). Thank you!

Ohh how lovely! York is one of my favourite cities, I went earlier in the year and my recs are in this!
If you have time visit The Alice Hawthorn pub in Nun Monkton, a small village just outside the city. The food is SO good, def one of the best meals I had last year. From there, you can go on a long walk around the area which has lovely countryside.

I think Skosh https://www.skoshyork.co.uk/ is one of the best restaurants in the UK.
It’s also nice to have lunch or a drink in the garden of Grey’s Court Hotel if the weather is good. https://www.grayscourtyork.com/garden/
