What would be your top 3 tips for returning to work after a baby?

Great question!

  1. Don’t leave organising your childcare to the last minute. Good childcare gets booked up quickly. Getting comfortable with your childcare arrangements is such an important part of your return. It will help you to feel less anxious and more prepared for your return to work.

  2. Invest in your confidence. There are so many great ways to do this, that don’t have to cost a lot, from listening to podcasts to reading books like The Blend, right through to working with a return coach. Maternity leave give us heaps of transferable skills but it’s hard to feel confident post a baby and all the changes we have experienced.

  3. Don’t be afraid to be vocal about your goals. If you still want a promotion go for it! Don’t believe any myths around maternity leave meaning that you have to start your career all over again.
