I’m thinking of leaning in to the brown jumper trend and wondered if it’s ok to wear with black? I saw Charlotte’s lovely shawl and trousers ensemble with white, but not sure white is my colour. Thank you.
yes! black and brown paired together can look lovely, a darker and richer shade of brown always helps elevate black outfits into a classier timeless look!
Definitely, COS have a lot of brown shades in their new arrivals and collections and looks so nice teamed with black. Take a look on their website for inspo.
I just bought a varley one piece in their dark brown shade and teamed with black trainers and a black trench and felt it went really well. So go for it!
(I should be working, but literally spent the last 30 mins browsing online!)
Thanks so much, it’s a colour I don’t wear often and I tend to lean towards more dark colours, so felt odd wearing cream or white.
Amazing thank you will have a look at the COS website. Ha ha me too, sorry to interrupt your work!
Hi
I absolutely think it’s fine to wear brown and black so long as the shades aren’t too similar. I often pair my light brown jumper with my black wide leg leather trousers. Often it helps if you have a lighter bag or coat to break up the look x
I tend to style brown with cream, however Sapna recently styled brown with red on fashion fix which I loved, it’s on our Instagram and it gave me such inspo!
Thanks everyone! I have just seen Sapna’s fashion fix, soo helpful! x
I love black and dark brown together! Also, I really appreciate dark brown with pastel pink, dark orange, dark yellow, strong red, creams, beiges, or khaki greens. I think that dark brown is such a great color for fall and winter if you want a bit of color, but perhaps not black all the time.
thanks Florence!
i was going to say - red is such a nice combo with brown - like what I did on FF.
But also I love it wit light neutrals like grey or cream - sometimes feel like is less harsh than black x
I’d go for other neutrals like grey or navy. Tonal monochrome also looks great with the brown trend so a chocolate brown with a camel for example!
