I am looking to book an authentic Japanese restaurant for my partners birthday. He loves Japanese meats and doesn’t want to go to a typical restaurant e.g. no sexy fish or Nobu. Does anyone know of anything ?

I haven’t personally been, but apparently this place is very special and they do Omakase where you leave it up to the chef to create your meal.

I recently went to Chotto Matte, it was one of the best meals I’ve eaten in a long time! It’s Japanese-Peruvian fusion. We went to the Marylebone one, and there is another in Soho.
