Hi! I’m losing a lot of hair at the moment. I’ve tried several supplements and lotions, but I’m open to your advice and experiences on the subject. Have you recently tried any products that really worked for you? Thanks for your help!
I recently started using Champo hair growth serum but haven’t been using it long enough yet. I also would recommend visiting the Philip Kingsley clinic. They have protein supplements which are meant to be good for hair growth/ as well as biotin.
Second the Philip Kingsley clinic! Though keep in mind most of the pros are trichologists, not actual doctors, so I would recommend seeing an actual dermatologist you can give you a diagnosis.
Also worth getting blood tests done at the GP who can test for things like iron, B12, hormones etc.
I’ve also started using the Champo hair growth serum every night as its non greasy. Then once a week I use the Centred rosemary hair oil pre wash as it stimulates growth x
Additionally to the product I highly recommend massaging the hair every night before bed for about 5 mins. I struggled with hair loss and have been doing this every night for a year now and my re growth is so strong!
I think also be careful with how much you’re pulling when brushing and rubbing with a towel. My hairdresser also advised to loosely tie hair in a top knot in a silk scrunchie when sleeping
I fully recommend Thick Tails products.
However, they are moving warehouses at the moment. They told me they should be restocked by late February / early March.
Whilst I’ve not tried it, I’ve heard good things about PRP for your hair.
I used Grow Goregous serum and Hair Syrup to help regrow around my hairline, no idea if the products worked or if it was the stimulation of massaging the area every day, but it definitely helped.
That’s so true! I always use a mircro fibre towel when drying my hair which is supposed to help!
+1 on this! I’ve tried the Kerastase Genesis serum but have sadly not noticed anything yet (2 months in). Trying to be diligent with massaging too and hoping that might work!
Agree with the microfibre hair towels and silk sleep hats. Those help protect hair but they won’t stop hair fall or work on regrowth. Definitely visit a doctor to get bloods taken. If it turns out to be genetic hair loss the only thing that really helps is foam rogain (using a dermastamp and massage make it even more effective). I’ve heard mixed things about Nutrafol. There are lots of great videos by qualified derms on insta - Dr Adel has done some posts on home hair loss treatments.
I went to the doctor last October about thinning hair. She suggested I take zinc. She also took blood tests. And I decided to cut back on all the “product” in case it was clogging up the roots & did scalp massage instead. Blood test showed I’m pre-diabetic (damnit!) so healthy eating - less sugar/carbs followed. One of those three things worked, my hair began to fill out nicely. Sorry I can’t tell you which one!
Hi,
I also recommend you look into minoxidil treatment.
Hi there, I’m a nutritionist and while some of the products mentioned may work in the short term I’d really encourage you to work with someone to investigate what might be the root cause of the hair loss in the first place. It could be autoimmune, a nutrient deficiency, thyroid issue, stress, hormones etc etc. It’s best to find out the underlying reason as your body is obviously trying to tell you something - tackle that rather than using products as sticking plasters xx
When I noticed my hair loss I had many blood tests carried out and all came back normal. So I tried an amazing vitamin from America, can order online. Natrol Biotin 10 000mcg. Cannot recommend it enough. After 3 months already noticed a difference. Less hair falling out, new growth and thicker hair.
I bought the Hello Klean shower head and it’s been a game changer. I was loosing a lot of hair during washing and drying. It has now stopped straight from the first use. I also use their thinning shampoo and colour fade conditioner. My hair is much softer and starting to feel thicker. Using since Jan. Highly recommend.
My daughter loses a lot of hair also. We found she was vitamin b12 deficient- since having loaded doses of b12 shots at the Drs she has seen an
Improvement In losing less hair.
Also, biotin is very good for hair
When washing. Just use shampoo at the front side and crown of the head massaging with your fingers gently and use the lather just to go through the rest of the hair. When drying your hair with a towel pay the hair, and do not rub it viciously.
If you’re using hairdryer /straighteners. Heat protectant is massively important. Expensive but raved about is the Pureology Colour Fanatic 21 Benefit Hair Treatment Spray 200ml
£20.80
RRP £32.00(35% off)at justmylook presently is a very recommended hair treatment spray
Now there’s a lot of debate about sls and parabens in haircare. I can’t recommend a decent shampoo. But assured others can
Good luck
Hi, I’m a Trichologist,
It’s always best to try and find the root cause of your hair loss.
Hair loss in women is usually a signal that’s something else in the body needs attention.
In most cases, it’s nutrition, Poor absorption or deficiencies of essential vitamins and minerals.
Genetics can play a factor in cases like Female pattern hair loss, As can Iron deficiency. I’m even though stress is not to be underestimated both physically and emotionally the main causes are hormones or Nutrition.
But this reason I created an anti-hair loss supplement called Seed And soul which is basically nutrition for Hair and addresses these main causes.
I had unexpectedly great success with the sugar bear hair gummies but can’t seem to find them anymore
