If you’re driving, it’s definitely worth a festive trip to Farmhouse if you’re able to book a stay there! Otherwise another gorgeous hotel nearby is The Hayford in Upper Hayford, I’ve not stayed there but go to the bar and restaurant there sometimes and it’s lovely!!
I would make a weekend of it and go to the Cotswolds (about half an hour away). My favourite affordable places include Double Red Duke, a lovely pub with rooms, and Artist Residence.
