Hive mind, help! My godson’s Christening is next weekend, and I’m struggling with a present. It’s made harder by the fact his parents are very well off, so I don’t feel like getting any sort of ‘investment’ gift really works. My current idea is to get him a very nice teddy bear, Steiff or Merrythought, mostly because that’s what I’ve got from an aunt and still have 40 years later. But not sure a boy will be as enamoured with a bear…
Any thoughts? I can spend up to £200.

I think a keepsake for his bedroom is a nice idea. You could always get him a small hamper of a few gifts. Etsy also do lovely personalised knits which are so sweet!

I think a high quality bear is actually a lovely idea. My children still treasure gifts from their god parents which include a Ralph Lauren blanket (navy with the teddy on for my son and at 15, he’s loving it again as he’s taking notice of his clothes and brands!), a personalised name artwork for my daughter and a quilted cushion she still loves.
