Looking for a recommendation for the best ring light, camera and mini mic for social content creation? Don’t want anything too techy (read: hard to set up) but looking for a decent set up.

Sorry not hugely helpful here as I don’t use this type of tech for my content creation but instead aim to shoot in natural light as much as possible! Ring light wise I do think that there isn’t much between them all on amazon tbh! Id say concentrate on if yu need it to be portable or not depending on where you plan to film because some an be very bulky!

In terms of light, I agree with Mia on trying to shoot in as much natural light as possible
As it’s winter this is a bit harder, so it may be worth getting a ringlight thats also a tripod, that way youre not having to bother with a lot of set up. This one Amazon.co.uk

We use this ring light in the office - Neewer Ring Light
It’s super easy to use and you’re able to change the brightness. It also fits a camera or a mobile which is great.
If it’s just for social you really can’t wrong with an iPhone, especially with the right light and mic. If you want a camera, the Sony A7 range, (you could probably go for an older version, like the A7SII) would work great for social content. It has capability for HD and 4K filming as well as slow mo too! Pair it with a 24mm lens and you can shoot really high quality content.
You won’t be able to use a mini mic with a camera set up, you would have to get either a shotgun mic like this one From Movo, which you would place ontop of the camera to catch audio, or a lapel mic/wireless mic like these ones from Rode
The wireless ones are the same principle as a mini mic, like the one Ellie sent, but just means you can plug it direct into the camera so the audio syncs to the image. It also comes with 2 mics so 2 people are able to get audio at once.

ooh exciting, for a camera, I have the Canon G7 X Mark ii, which I know has seen a lot of popularity online recently, but I do think it is a great first camera, and its super easy to work. If in doubt on settings, TikTok will be your best friend in trying to work it out (I’ve done this a few times). Another suggestion I’d recommend is a dongle for your camera to your laptop or phone, for exporting footage. I have this one, for my laptop, and for my phone I have this one x
