Ideally, upholstered in beige or blue fabric, open to print and that can be assembled at home because I do not think it will fit up the stairs otherwise.

A lot of divan bases come in two sections and are fairly easy to bolt together with the fittings supplied. (I would not pay extra for the delivery guys to do this - it’s a ten minute job.)
Plus storage drawers in the base are good for spare bedding sets.
Here’s just one idea, which is beige, reasonably priced and has plenty of good reviews.
It will need a headboard too.
The thing to spend time and money on is the mattress…
