I’m getting married in September and would like to get my dad a gift as a thank you for all his help during the wedding planning and of course the role he’ll play on the day. I would love for it to be sentimental and mean something of course but don’t want it to be too “on the nose” in the sense of something he’ll never use again or that’s a bit too cheesy. Does anyone have any ideas? Budget up to £150. Thanks so much!!!
We had given my dad a pair of engraved cufflinks which he could wear on the day
I think engraved cufflinks is such a nice idea! For something more sentimental you could create a personalised photo album for him after the big day! You could also take him out for a special meal to say thank you.
I love the cufflinks idea - whatever you gift in the end, I think a hand written thank you letter to go with it would make it even more special. Nothing to cringe like a “thank you dad” card, but more a normal piece of paper where you write about your favourite moments with him throughout your life and thank him for being by your side all those years - I think that’s a great way to remember fun times together and how important he is to you! Pop it in an envelope and hide it within your present for him to find either straight away or later on.
I did a few things! I wrote a letter in a that I bought from Etsy that said ‘to my Dad on my wedding day’ it was really sweet. I also got cufflinks- You can get cufflinks from Deakin & Francis that are super customisable! They can put your own handwriting on there. I also got an iron-on patch of a photograph of the two of us when I was little, and affixed it to the back of a special tie that I bought for him to wear on the day. Hope this helps!
