Holiday books

Hi Everyone, I’ll be leaving on holiday soon and was wondering which good, new summer book to buy to read on the beach. I’m thinking of getting “Cursed bread” by Sophie Mackintosh (found in the SL books to read list), but I’d love your options and ideas.
I’ve already read Lessons in Chemistry

Hi Lou,
I’m currently reading My Sister’s Grave by Robert Dugoni. I’m about halfway through and its an easy read so far, I’m flying through! Along the same lines, I enjoyed The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley.
Alternatively, I read Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren whilst I was away recently, which I’d definitely recommend for a holiday read.

For easy beach reads, I would recommend anything by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Daisy Jones & the Six, Malibu, Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, etc). Light, funny reads are great like Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld. Or even Where the Crawdads Sing is quite sweet!

I’ve also got Cursed Bread on my to-read list this summer. Otherwise, two of the biggest books this summer are The List by Yomi Adegoke and Yellowface by RF Kuang.

Malibu Rising holds a special place among my favorite beach reads. :dizzy:
During my trip to Greece this week, I delved into Monica Heisey’s “Really Good, Actually,” and it has been an absolute delight. The book covers SO much… friendship, cats, modern dating (quite the rollercoaster!), did I mention cats?? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I’ve just read the Thursday Murder Club, which is not my usual choice but it’s so easy, funny and entertaining - perfect for the beach/pool!

I’ve just finished How to Kill Men and Get Away With It by Katy Brent, which I finished in a day. Really easy holiday read!

I always like to read books based on where I’m going - GoodReads.com is great for this. Gives me ideas of books I wouldn’t have known about and in a wide range of genres.

A fun, light read (short book, perfect for a beach capazzo) is Nora Ephron’s “I Feel Bad About My Neck”

A very scenic mystery based in the north of Spain - it reads very quickly and the descriptions are stunning

I am taking this one https://uk.bookshop.org/a/12439/9780571371761 for a post-beach, balcony read as it is in hardback

Finally, everyone is recommending “Yellowface” (also hardback)

Anything by Taylor Jenkins Reid is perfect for holiday, especially Malibu Rising!

I also would recommend Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller- I think I saw it on a Reece Witherspoon book list and loved it.

For something a bit different I would recommend Hot Milk by Deborah Levy. I’ve never read anything quite like it before and was completely captivated.
