What to wear as the host of a Christmas drinks party at home

My go-to outfit is black velvet trousers with either a black roll neck or an evening knit with a bit of difference, like sparkly detail or feathers. The high-street has some great options right now, we’ve got a feature on them here.
To accessorise, I add some statement earrings and either fun flats or kitten heels/mules.
