Heading to Kefalonia next week with 3 of my girl friends for 5 days, any recommendations or favourites for beaches/dinners etc would be really appreciated!

Myrtos Beach is a must! So beautiful. And for a really authentic Greek meal go to Tassia, an instituton on the island which has been open since the 70s. You can watch the boats bob in the bay and order great seafood – have the best time!

Amazing, thanks all!

Thanks all for the recommendations, we’re now back from Kefalonia and sharing a few of our favourites for any future trips!

Hot Tips:

  • Car is recommended!
Quad bikes etc are fine for day trips but a lot of the places we wanted to visit were 40-60 minutes away which is so much more enjoyable in a car.

  • Rent a Boat for the Day
You don’t need a license and you get a short lesson with a few recommendations of where to visit before you head out for the day. We used Nico at Argostoli Boat Hire +30 697 370 9379

  • Myrtos Beach and Assos - as Sherri said, Myrtos is a must! The water is beautiful, there’s a small cafe on the beach for cold drinks and snacks and there’s showers, toilets and changing rooms. Would recommend spending the day on Myrtos having a quick shower and then heading to Assos for sunset. It’s quiet and colourful and would suggest grabbing Gyros from Three Cheeky Monkeys to eat by the water in the Marina and then getting ice cream from Rostis Family Bakery.

  • Argostoli for turtle spotting!

We stayed closer to Svoronata so if anyone wants recommendations for this area, let me know!
