My husband and I want to take my 5 year old boy on his first trip to London. Can any recommend the best hotels for kids in London and some great activities whilst in London?

Browns Hotel has amazing amenities for children and plenty of history to blow his socks off - the first transatlantic phone call was made here and The Jungle Book was finished at the hotel. It is an expensive option though!
The Haymarket has a pool and sits in spitting distance of Soho without having to constantly tackle the bedlam of it every time you leave the hotel.
Activities wise…
Regents Park and see the giraffes in the zoo without having to go in
Natural History Museum
Walk along South Bank to see Big Ben / Houses of Parliament and London Eye

Otherwise, Beaverbrook Townhouse in Chelsea has lovely gardens and a nice kids menu for little ones, and Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green is right next to the new Young V&A museum!
