LONDON - things to do when staying at Excel

Hey all!

I stay at the London Excel every now and then for work (I’m not from London and hardly go)… where is a nice area I can get to easily from Excel via TFL that has nice coffee shops, restaurants, shops etc?

(ideally not central) any cute little neighbourhoods?

I would hop on the DLR and tube and go to Blackheath which is close! Lots of lovely independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and of course, the Heath.

Otherwise Benthal Green is about 30 mins away and now has lots of nice cafes and bars - from there it’s about a 10-min walk to Hackney too which has endless options.
