Matcha

I returned from LA, 10 days ago, and really lived my LA/American girl dreams and found some of the best coffee places - which I will share. But, I hugely got into Matcha when I was over there but haven’t found one in the UK that I am yet to love, or I am not making them properly. Could be the case!!
Has anyone any Matcha recommendations that they swear by?

I really like Jing matcha:

I really rate Clearspring. Also a good tip is if you have a milk frother at home, add the milk and toss in a tablespoon of matcha. Set it to the biggest froth setting and bob’s your uncle. So easy and such good results.

Hello Harriet, I was wondering if you had a particular milk frother you’d recommend? Thank you!

This is the one I use.

Try this matcha. It’s from an Italian brand which makes tea: https://www.laviadelte.com/categories/Matcha%20World?t=1

Thank you! Love their matcha accessories too!

Not sure if you’ve given it a go but try the Korean or Japanese stores and ask for sweet matcha rather than just matcha - i find the sweet match much better for drinks otherwise it can taste quite bitter.

Wow I’m loving the different reccs here and can’t wait to try them! I buy Perfect Ted matcha from Waitrose or Tesco and use my nespresso milk frother to make it and it works well (not sure I’m supposed to though)!

having always been a teapigs person I am just trying the new Dirtea Matcha DIRTEA Matcha and also also the Ancient and Brave Matcha with collagen Matcha + Collagen. either have it with oat milk using Hotel Chocolats Velvetiser or with hot water but was told the other day that you should not put boiling hot water on the powder and instead whisk with a small amount of luke warm and then add the hot.

Teapigs matcha is good! I always have my matcha with coconut milk. I have Pret to blame for that. If you haven’t tried it… Blank Street matcha’s with blueberry in are AMAZE! x

Dirtea and Jenki matcha is great! You want to be ordering ceremonial grade matcha btw. And I love the Jenki pop-up in Selfridges and their cafe in Spitalfields. I like their Lavender and CBD iced matcha.

I am a bit of a matcha addict and have a subscription to OMG Matcha (https://omgteas.co.uk/) which I drink Japanese style. OMG also sells a matcha-specific frother that I particularly like. I have also tried the DIRTEA matcha, I thought it was good, but the OMG is still my favourite…

I love matcha too! My fave is Jenki in Spitalfields, at home I use health bar bio matcha x
