Milan for a long weekend in January

Hello, I am going away with my boyfriend to Milan for a long weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Hi Sarah, Milan is one of my favourite cities! A great way to discover something new. The Duomo (Cathedral) is right in the heart of the city, very close to the ‘Galleria’ a range of shops (e.g. Massimo Dutti) and high end stores, with art galleries/museums nearby. Worth a wander around. There’s the Sforza Palace - Leonardo lived there and painted some of the rooms. Of course La Scala for opera - but expensive and hard to get tickets. Or there’s the ‘Last Supper’ but tickets may already be sold out. High quality food is everywhere - enjoy!

Totally agree with @hrch238 . The Duomo, the Last Supper and the Galleria are worth visiting. Also consider the Modern Art Gallery, the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum and the Palazzo Reale. Brera is worth visiting - check out the Pinacoteca in this neighbourhood.

Osteria Milanese Oss Bus offers mouth-watering dishes and head to Marchesi 1824 - a household name in Milan. Also check out Il Salumaio di Monte Napoleone and Drogherie Milanesi.

I would stay in Brera as it is quite a nice, fun and central area which is a bit more centrally located then Navigli. I would go to Navigli for a bit as the canals are quite fun with loads of restuarants and bars. Trattoria Della Glora is great as well as Osteria Conchetta for something a bit more traditional. 10 Corso Como is a cool concept store/ cafe/ restaurant which is cool but a bit out of the way. Defiently take advantag of aperativo on the canal.

Hi there, Milan is a great place for a weekend break. The Duomo has rooftop access which is fun. You can see the city from there and get a great perspective on the magnitude of the building. Shopping and people watching are an absolute must. You can even easily get to Lake Como from there by train. Enjoy

Hi there, we had a great day getting the train to Lake Como and went on the ferry to Belagio. Just beautiful and worth the journey. La Locanda del Gatto Rosso is a nice restaurant in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. X

Ciao! I split my time between London & Milan and have some good recommendations for you:

Porta Venezia is the area where locals spend their time. Head to Via Melzo in this area for apperitivo. Slightly further but the best is Bar Basso, late in the evening it’s a must.

Head to Via Brera for shopping & bar Vesta for a good cocktail.

Head to Via Della Spiga for high end shopping

Best restaurant, but must book via phone: https://maps.app.goo.gl/pB2zbAv6aofZLAqJ7?g_st=ic

Enjoy!
