Hey! I’m planning a road trip from Boston, MA through Cape Cod to Newport, RI. Any recs for things to do / shops / restaurants? Thanks so much!!
In Boston go to Eataly on Boylston for all food and kitchen items Italian. Tatte is also a great coffee shop - a chain in several locations but excellent. Harborwalk is great and get the ferry to Spectacle Island, a nature reserve. Also get the ferry up to Salem, which is weird but the ferry ride is great. Also do a lighthouse trip! Stay at the Boston Harbor Hotel on the waterfront - expensive but beautiful, esp if you choose a harborview room. If you’re going to Cape Cod (you can get to Provincetown on the fast ferry from Boston) in the summer do a dunes tour. It’s brilliant on a hot sunny day. It’s all a wonderful part of the US. Enjoy!
Thanks so much!
In Boston, walk down Newbury street for really good restaurants. Try saltie girl seafood bar if you love seafood. The banks is also an amazing restaurant.
Hi! I did a New England road trip in the summer, starting in Boston and heading up to Kennebunkport before heading back to Newport and then Cape Cod.
In Boston, Newbury Street is lovely for a wander, shopping and food. A duck boat tour is also fun, get a pic with the bronze ducklings! Contessa great for a smarter dinner, the North End is good for Italian spots (try Limoncello and Prezza).
Head to see the mansions in Newport - incredible!
Highly recommend heading to Portland if you have time, loved it there. The Porthole is a must for fried fish!
And Cape Cod! We stayed in Chatham which I loved, very family friendly and great Main Street with plenty of lovely shops, bars and restaurants. Wish we could have stayed longer! x
Thanks so so much!
