One day in London

Hi! Flying into London from the US next week and have 24 hrs. before we head north on a train to visit our daughter. Recommendations for a festive day in London? Thank you!

Ohh if it’s during the weekend I would avoid the touristy spots (like Oxford & Regent’s St) which have been so so busy. Otherwise, Burlington Arcade has some beautiful decorations this year, and lots of nice independent shops, or go west to Chelsea to have a wonder and lunch. Stanley’s has a really nice festive terrace.

Also, you can’t beat the luxe hotels for a festive afternoon tea / lunch / drink. We just did a round-up here of where to go.

Oh my god yes, you got to have festive afternoon tea, such a good way to do something traditionally English while still having xmas vibes!

Love these ideas and appreciate your reply! Thank you so much!

Battersea Power Station have the GLIDE ice rink in partnership with Jo Malone London - https://www.jomalone.co.uk/glide-icerink you can grab a mulled wine or hot chocolate after at the Ice Bar x

Marylebone High Street is also very festive this time of year, or you could go to Covent Garden which will be very busy but also quite magical!
