Hello any good tips on how to reduce static ? I bought a gorgeous column style maxi dress but it seems to attract a lot of static - worried that it’s only going to get worse in the heat (it’s for a holiday). I think there might be a spray but is it any good?

It might be an old wives tale but I’ve heard washing the dress with fabric softener can help. Also spraying hairspray on the inside of the dress can reduce the staticness. Failing that, a silk slip underneath?

You can also try rubbing a damp cloth or dryer sheet over your clothes, or putting some moisturiser on your skin.
Running a metal object, like a metal hanger or safety pin over the fabric will also discharge the electricity.
And as Laura mentioned, I’ve also heard that adding fabric softener or baking soda to the wash helps.
