Since my Mum was diagnosed with secondary breast (metastatic) cancer of the brain and her passing away recently, I have been suffering with eczema in my scalp (which is like having dandruff on steroids).
I have spoken to my doctor, who prescribed a a shampoo, which hasn’t worked and also seemed to turn my brunette hair a greenish colour.
I have also tried many different scalp oils/serums to no avail and was just wondering if anyone out there had any recommendations please?
Perhaps a second opinion from a doctor? I know it can be super painful and wouldn’t want you to try too many harsh things x
I think defo chat to a doctor again, to be safe, but I also had a similar stress induced eczema a few years ago and used L’Oréal Professionnel’s Scalp Advanced Shampoo once a week (double shampoo each use), then followed with any natural hair oil. It really worked for me! There’s also The Body Shop Ginger Shampoo if you wanted something with less chemicals x
Thank you for the advice. I will give your recommendations a go whilst I wait for my Dr’s appointment 100%
Hi! I hope you are okay. Sorry this might not be THAT helpful, but I had a very similar thing a few years ago during a stressful period of my life and found that topical products weren’t actually the answer, but as eczema is usually a physical manifestation of stress / trauma, that going to the root of the problem was better long-term for clearing it up over time. Mine only cleared up after therapy x
Watermans shampoo, conditioner, serum is really good. They donate some of their products to hospitals for cancer patients to use following chemo and hair loss so obviously the ingredients are good for a healthy scalp? I don’t know if this will help, but I’m super happy with the products, soothing scalp and makes my hair feel healthy and looks shiny.
Hope you are doing ok. I don’t think I have eczema but do have a persistently really itchy scalp. The only thing that works for me is the Sachajuan Scalp range, it completely takes away the itch x
Thank you so much to Beverley and Rebecca for giving me some more products to try, which I definitely will as it takes 2 weeks for a consultation with my GP x
