Shampoo for fine hair, prone to dandruff

My hair is quite fine so goes greasy quite quickly…and it also is prone to dandruff. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don’t get dandruff, but I do get very greasy hair as mine too is so fine.

I’ve been using (and loving) this from K18: https://www.k18hair.co.uk/collections/all-products/products/k18-damage-shield-ph-protective-shampoo

It’s expensive but I really rate it as my hair always looks and feels so much cleaner and a bit fuller. It’s ph balanced too so should help with your flakiness. x

The Vichy Dercos shampoo for oily hair with dandruff works wonders for me:

I’ve struggled with dandruff since I was a teenager and this is the only thing that ever works for me when I have a flare up - definitely not very sexy, but it works a dream! Selsun Suspension Anti Dandruff Shampoo 60 ml : Amazon.co.uk: Beauty. I also have fine hair - when I use this I can go 3+ days before it gets greasy again where usually I have to wash every other day

I don’t really like the smell, so I’ll use this first and leave it on for a minute or so to soak into my scalp, then I’ll wash it out and wash with something else (OUAI smells amazing imo, or something from Bumble and Bumble). Make sure you fully wash out all the shampoo/any conditioner, and don’t leave your hair wet for very long as the humidity can make your scalp release more oils, as well as providing the perfect environment for the fungus that causes dandruff.

Also, it might help to increase your selenium intake (one of the ingredients in the shampoo linked) - try eating a couple of Brazil nuts every week, just no more than 3 per day as this can lead to toxicity! I’m not a nutritionist or anything, this is just something I researched myself and found helpful

My hair is the same & I love Vichy Dercos Anti-Dandruff Shampoo For Normal To Oily Hair
It works well for me

In my opinion you should oil your hair first leave it for 20 to 30mins and I would suggest using almond oil following mild shampoo and conditioner which is the easiest way to get rid off dandruff

I have been using a beautiful soap bar shampoo by Elizabeth33. Clean brand with nothing harmful in it and it’s been very soothing for my scalp. Also the scent is sublime. I’m so hoping they make a soap-on-rope with same smell (but the one they sell is also beautifully scented, so soft & leaves skin feeling smooth as smooth can be. (@elisabeth33 | Linktree)
Hope it works for you .
