Shepherds Huts / Mini Getaway

Hi all. Looking to go away for my birthday and looking for some recommendations of shepherds huts or mini getaway or even a nice hotel with lovely grounds/ countryside vibes? Preferably under £250 per night - which I think is about standard?! Anywhere up to 2.5 hours from London would be ideal x

Can’t recco any shepherds huts, but some really nice but reasonable hotels are The Rectory, Retreat at Elcot Park and Double Red Duke:

Or what about somewhere like this? Haven’t been but on my list to try: https://holidays.cabu.co.uk/cabu-by-the-sea

We stayed at The Old King William shepherd’s huts in September and it was great. Beautiful countryside, lovely pubs and not too far from beaches of north norfolk. And woodfired hot tubs, wood burning stoves, fire pit (not that we are pyromaniacs). Here’s their website: https://www.oldkingwilliam.co.uk/

Stayed here last year and it was gorgeous - we stayed in the Woodland Kabin which was so private in its own field but you have the pizza van of the campsite if you want food nearby or there are some lovely walks to nice pubs / it’s well equipped enough to cook yourself. Highly recommend!

I would also look at Kip Hideaways (membership is so worth it) or Cabu Cabins near Folkestone - Farmhouse vibes but better value IMO!

I stayed in this one in Dorset last year and it was 10/10. It’s under budget per night and honestly the nicest experience! Jayne the host was fantastic and left a basket with lots of goodies. and she’ll give you a discount if you book directly with her!

Aware this is a bit further away to reach but it really is magical.

The Dilly is on Anglesey, North Wales. 3 hours from Euston on the train. The owners are so lovely, I’m sure they’d be happy to pick you up from Rhosneigr station (although it’s only a 5/10 min walk away). Spend the day in Rhosneigr - cool places for brunch and dinner. You can enjoy the ‘hikki’ - their wood-fired outside bath in the evenings too. Would highly recommend!

I would recommend any of these. In the banks of Loch Fyne in a private estate with an excellent pub (The Oystercather) at the end of the drive.

Hill Farm Glamping in Warwickshire is beautiful with a wild swimming pond and sauna for guests. There’s a few options including a shepherds hut and off grid cabin  Hope that helps.

I’d highly recommend this shepherd’s hut. Absolutely gorgeous, peaceful location and hosts who treat you like family. You won’t be disappointed and it is really good value too
