Socks with loafers

Please can someone recommend some socks to wear with loafers?
Would love to pull off this look but struggling to get the sock right :sweat_smile:

What colour are the loafers? I wear my black ones (actually have them on riht now!) with all sorts of colourful socks. My go-to is often red medium length socks like these, or white socks with a frill if not wearing trousers like these or these x
