Spring Milan Weekend Recommendations

3 of my best mates and I are planning a trip to Milan in April and we are looking for some ideas of what to do. I don’t want to rely on TikTok as we would rather go to more artsy/niche places that aren’t overtly touristy. We are looking for art, food, cultural sights, and some cool bars. We are all on a bit of a budget so nothing too lavish.

None of us have been so going in a bit blind so any ideas welcome! We are planning to be there for 3 full days. Thanks! xx

I highly recommend using this site for all things Italy:

The Duomo, the Last Supper (book in advance) and the Palazzo Reale are all worth visiting. Look out for art exhibitions at the Palazzo Reale. The Gallerie are worth visiting - head to Motta for a good delicious breakfast or a sweet treat. You might want to consider Museo Balgatti Valsecchi and Drogherie Milanesi.

If you are visiting Milan in April, look out for Design Week: book out in advance any exhibits you might want to visit.

The Brera neighbourhood is worth visiting - also look out for the Pinacoteca.

Milan has some good vintage shopping spots as well as flea markets.

Restaurants: Osteria Milanese Oss Bus offers mouthwatering traditional Milanese dishes. Also check out Replay and Fresco e Cimmino. Marchesi 1824 is a household name in Milan.

If you’re into art I would recommend visiting Fondazione Prada!
