I recommend Buxbaum restaurant and Salm Brau. Paremi is worth going to for mouth-watering treats.

If you want a typical Austrian meal Plachutta is the best place (although veggie options are limited)
I love any of the NENI restaurants (Wasser or Prater) for great middle-eastern food and vibes
Hotel Sacher to try their famous cake
The Christmas markets are great
Try Viennese pancakes wherever you can (Kaiserschmarrn)
Museum wise - The Belvedere (Klimt) & Schonbrunn are both beautiful

Definitely recommend Skopik & Lohn for a fun evening vibe and great food. Also Cafe Demel is a must visit - it is quite touristy but it’s so beautiful, even just to look round the shop or for a hot chocolate!

Plachutta Restaurants for classic Vienna food. The brasserie was beautiful.
Huth Gastwirtschaft Really friendly staff. I found this building fascinating, it never ended!

Another must restaurant visit for probably the best Schnitzel is Figlmüller!
And Cafe Central for a traditional cafe house experience.

yes to all of that, but a few additions. Actually the famous Sachertorte is better at the AIDA (which is a coffee place chain - also try their Krapfen) even though the one at the hotel is the Original. Their cafe is always crowded. Go to the Blaue Bar for a cocktail in the evening instead - much much nicer!!

Avoid Fieglmüller for your Schnitzel! it is a tourist trap. Go to Plachutta twice - once for the Schnitzel and once for the Tafelspitz.

and please go the SChwarze Kamel!! An institution. have their house wine and the open sandwiches. They also do a fabulous Schnitzel

Yes Schwarzes Kamel is a must
Trzesniewski is also a great place for a small beer and open sandwhich - it’s all standing in a cute side street and you can pop in for a mid afternoon snack while you’re shopping in town
