Can anyone recommend a black mascara that delivers on volume? I have quite long lashes but they’re not thick… I’m looking for one that doesn’t flake or shift through the day, especially in this hot weather. Previously I’ve loved Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk and Benefit They’re Real - but before I repeat buy one of those, I wondered if there were any others to consider?

I have the same type of lashes and really recommend this one from Lancôme! I’ve used it for years and whenever I try something else I always go back to this one, I especially like how it stays on all day in comparison to other products

Diorshow Waterproof is great for volume and doesn’t budge throughout the day, I’ve worn this on and off for years because every time I try something new I always end up going back to this product! Lancome Monsieur Big Waterproof is also good for volume but I found that it tends to dry up in the tube quite quickly so doesn’t last as long as others.
I am currently using the YSL Lash volume mascara and I love it! I’ve never found anything that adds length to mine before but this really does volume and length MASCARA
I love the Rare Beauty mascara! I’ve been using it for about a year, definitely the best mascara i’ve tried for thickness, length and it lasts all day. I can’t see myself using anything else now!
I have really fine lashes and love the Unlocked mascara from Hourglass. I find it’s buildable, gives great definition and doesn’t transfer.

I always go back to it. It doesn’t smudge and it’s never too wet - honestly it’s the best. Or Maybelline’s Sky High

Yes second this - loving this currently!! I also have sworn by the Benefit They’re Real Primer for years for adding a second layer of volume/length plus I find that it really makes my lashes stay in place

I used to use both of the above. Benefit They’re Real has significantly changed and I found it smudges across my eyes within an hour or so of wearing (also makes them itchy?! weird). I looove this one - they do it in waterproof too! Mascara Lash Sensational Sky High Waterproof Mascara Black | Boots
I’d rec (sorry if it’s already on here) Hourglass in general. I too have long but fine eyelashes and this gives a bit of volume without too much clumping and I’d easily buildable. On the pricey side but a tube lasts half a year min with everyday use!

I’ve tried many mascaras over the years; Lancome, Benefit, Chanel, Maybelline, L’Oreal… I’m 42 and have been wearing mascara since I was about 13 for reference. I would say the best for big Bambi bold lashes; Diorshow. It’s a PITA to remove, but easily it’s the best for big lashes. Chanel isn’t bad, Lancome is great for definition, Benefit is OK but I found it a bit clumpy and the removal process easily outweighs the lashes you buy it for. High street versions (Rimmel, No.7, L’Oreal, Maybelline…etc) I wouldn’t say did that much and they never seem to last as long as the premium lines, that being said, if you don’t wear mascara daily, you’re wasting your cash on premium lines- unless it’s for a specific purpose (eg big lashes) as you’re not wise to keep a mascara longer than a few months at best due to risk of bacteria overgrowth. You only get one set of eyes, look after them!
