If you liked The Boy At The Top of The Mountain, you might enjoy All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. It’s beautifully written and really captures the impact of WWII.

Have you ever read Sebastian Faulks? He is the mast of war and post-war books!

Where My Heart Used to Beat is one of my favourites.

The Alice Network by Kate Quinn is one of my favourite books from any genre. It highlights the role that women played in the French underground - truly amazing what they did, a lot of which was because it was felt that women wouldn’t be capable!!! Also by Kaye Quinn is the Rose Code based in Bletchley Park and The Diamond Eye based in Russia & the USA.
I have also read and would recommend Nineteen Steps by Millie Bobby Brown (from Stranger Things). It’s based in the East End of London during the war.

It has to be Sebastian Faulks - Birdsong, easily in my top three books of all time! :star_struck:

Also try, Do the Birds Still Sing in Hell? - Horace Greasley, all the more harrowing as it is a true story.
