Weekend in Paris

Looking for Paris recommendations - any good cafes / bakeries, brunch places, things to do that aren’t the usual tourist attractions as I’ve been a few times already!

You have to go to French Bastards - their pastries are incredible!

Hi Sophie

Have you already been to the Musee de Cluny?

It houses the wonderful ‘Lady and Unicorn’ tapestries and , if you are there for the 1st or 3rd Thursday of the month, is open from 6.15 to 9.00 pm for an evening experience.

I highly recommend restaurant Marty.

Maybe a day trip to the Loire Valley or Mont St Michel?

Mamiche bakery is amazing, Kodawari Ramen is a must, Cafe Varenne is great for classic french. Also, L’Avant Comptoir du Marche is one of my favorite spots in paris. Musee Carnavalet is a great museum in Le Marais.

Bakeries: Mamiche, 10 Belles, The French Bastards, Liberte. Also, head to Passy (get off at Trocadero and walk down to Rue de Passy from there). Nice shops, more local atmosphere, less tourists and in the many side streets you will find great spots for taking pics with the Eiffel Tower.

Lots of nice crêperies on rue du Montparnasse, my fave is la Crêperie Bretonne.
Great gelato at La Fabrique Givrée, great to have at the nearby, scenic jardin du Luxembourg.
Francois Pralus is famous for their praline brioche, they have many branches dotted around the city.
Stohrer have a great pain au chocolat.
Anything from Mamiche is great.
Fou de Patisserie is a pastry shop with handpicked bestsellers from other well-known patisseries.
Nice roads to roam around: rue des martyrs and rue montorgueil.
The batobus boat ride on the Seine is always a nice activity.
For a splurge, I’d recommend the hot chocolate at the Peninsula hotel.
