I want to try and do some more festive activities this year - what’s everyone’s ride or die activity in London during the festive period?

Obviously going to see all the decorations in the city are a must. However we love running around and seeing all the elaborate hotel decorations like Claridges, Dorchester and the new Peninsula hotel. Also any rooftop bars with a view so you can see all the lights below.

Ice skating at somerset house is my all time fave thing to do at christmas! Also going to one of the backyard cinemas are so fun at christmas time, they usually pop up at christmas markets now and then so defo worth keeping am eye out!

Messiah at St Paul’s Cathedral is incredible - the chills from Hallelujah chorus really do the job Handel's Messiah | St Paul's Cathedral
Also the Christmas Day service at St Pauls is very heartwarming - there are people from all over the world and the spirit is so welcoming

Wine at Gordons
Sniffing all the natural decorations at Hampton Court Palace and then going home to make my own Christmas oranges. HCP also do carols in the courtyard which is delightful - slinking around the Tudor bits by candlelight
Buying a pudding from F&M
The Smithfield Christmas Eve meat auction is a hoot but I lost control one year and bought a whole pig so I’m scared to go again

Can’t beat mooching around Liberty and picking out a new bauble to add to the collection. They have such a good selection!

I love a big Christmas meal out with friends - either all doing a roast together at someones house/pub (sometimes we do secret santa too) or I love Daphnes at Christmas time!

This year I have Kew Gardens Christmas Trail.
Walking tour of the Christmas lights around central London, I even found a map!
Paradox Museum, not christmassy but a fun activity with friends.

Definitely ice skating! I used to love the Natural History Museum one although it’s closed now, but Glide at Battersea or Somerset House look like great alternatives! Also going for a roast somewhere cosy x
